Here are some descriptions of the energy that may be found in the stones that I use in my jewelry. This is only a generic outline, as the individual stones will carry a description that is related directly to what has been divined through energetic reading.

Amethyst:

This is a stone that inspires a lot of Metaphysical descriptions. There is no doubt that the color of this stone is highly regarded in the metaphysical world, and that alone makes it very popular. beyond this obvious connection, though, there are many benefits from its influence on the higher chakras as well as on our emotional, physical, and mental state of being.
The stone was, at one time, quite a bit rarer than it is today. Thanks in large part to large deposits discovered in South America, this stone is very affordable and abundant. A very fine quality stone is well within the range of affordability, and stones of average quality are easily acquired for use. But quality is not always a measure of energetic attributes in any one particular stone, so just going for the biggest and the best looking is not the way to seek out this stone.
Throughout the literature on amethyst several things stand out loud and clear. One of these is that this stone has very strong and beneficial calming properties, so much so that it is an excellent stone to help angry or frustrated people control their temperament. It is a highly spiritual stone that helps to balance emotional highs and lows and to avoid extreme mood swings. It help us release and diffuse our negative emotions such as resentment, anger, frustration, rage, feelings of being disrespected, etc. In addition to helping us chill out and let go of anger, it also helps one who is working on themselves to gain courage, let go of fear, transform anxieties into confidence, open the third eye, and in general to balance and transform our lives through the trans-mutational raising of our own energy vibrations. Because of its highly spiritual energy and its ability to transform from above, the amethyst is very useful for attuning to higher realms while in meditation, as well as attuning and balancing the bodies energy centers, leading to increased intuition.
It facilitates a great amount of healing on the physical body from the energetic level through its direct effect on our sympathetic nervous system and our endocrine glands which, by the way, are our direct link to spiritual energy. It also works from the subtle levels to help and encourage emotional healing and to bring greater understanding of ourselves and others into our consciousness, leading to greater serenity and compassion. Edgar Cayce also mentioned the fragrance of lavender as assisting in the attunement of the body during periods of meditation, so it seems that many things associated with the color purple will attune the body and mind.
It’s reported that amethyst, in direct opposition to citrine, which are both quartz, absorbs negative energy quite readily and therefore should be cleansed and cleared regularly. It’s not a good idea to do this in direct sunlight, as some varieties of amethyst will fade quickly in the process. It may also not be a good idea to take an amethyst that’s  's set in a tight bezel and throw it in the freezer, since the expansion and contraction of the metal surrounding the stone might cause cracking or chipping. Sea salt or kosher salt (recommended in a dry environment if the stone is set in silver), moonlight, aura cleansing in smoke or incense, or burying in the earth would be preferred in these cases.

Aquamarine:

A variety of beryl, aquamarine comes in light green to light blue, almost colorless at times. it is also a very bright stone when faceted and makes an attractive addition to any piece of jewelry. Aquamarine helps people feel comfortable in the company of others when they would otherwise be ill at ease. It acts as a nerve tonic, calming one in periods of nervousness. It helps one with verbal communication and any problems with the throat, including sore throat and respiratory problems. It works at harmonizing and clearing the throat chakra as well as the heart chakra. Its calming essence helps one to meditate and connect with subtle spiritual energy, thereby accessing higher realms. For people who have trouble with expressing their thoughts or who have to teach or lecture, this is a good stone to wear, especially around the neck close to the throat. For healers, this is a good stone to use or to wear during your work schedule for the benefit of your patients.

Citrine:

This is a quartz crystal that is yellow in color. It can be light yellow, which is the way it's found most often in nature, to a dark golden yellow which is generally the color that is created from heat treating the quartz. It is reported that citrine does not hold negative energy. Rather it disperses and changes the energy and doesn't need to be smudged or cleared of negativity. It also helps to attract money and does well when placed in or near cash registers. It also works on the solar plexus attuning your personal energy to energize it. Through the color of yellow, it works on the lower chakras to bring a sunny disposition to the wearer and can help to clear the aura, presumably by its quartz nature and its yellow radiance.

Garnet:

This is a mineral that ranges in color from colorless to red, reddish brown, red with a violet hue, orange, yellow, and green. They have similar chemical compositions, but are different enough that they’re divided into groups such as almandite, Pyrope, Rhodolite (a mix of almandite and Pyrope that exhibits a violet hue), spessartite (orange), grossular (all colors, especially chrome green and orange), and Andradite (a type of grossular garnet, including the green demantoid garnet).
All garnets have some energetic properties in common and then there are specific qualities somewhat unique to each variety and, of course, colors play a part in this. Most sources agree that garnet has a stimulating effect on ones vitality. It enhances the circulatory system and encourages creativity. Passion is increased by the presence of garnet. Its red color probably has a lot to do with that, but emotion has a close connection the lower chakras and the color red, and so it would have a natural affinity with garnet as well. It helps one to find courage and freedom from fear as well as physical and emotional weaknesses. It helps to bring up past life information and should be placed near the pituitary gland to enhance this ability.
The energy of garnet is said to be warming, revitalizing, fortifying, and physically and emotionally stimulating. It opens the doors of perception to oneself and to the understanding of others. It diffuses anger and raises ones self esteem. It connects the physical and the spiritual aspects of ones nature and stimulates the upward flow of the Kundalini from the base of the spine, and the seat of the sleeping serpent, towards the crown chakra. It also helps to stimulate business activity, but with letting us know to behave properly, giving and taking in healthy symbiosis. It teaches us patience and balance in life and may do this in the way we need rather than in the way we want, but its energy will teach us many good lessons if we allow it the opportunity. This stone is said to help people who lack self confidence and motivates the wearer to act with courage and confidence in their life.

      Andradite (demantoid) garnet

Works mainly to stabilize and enhance the male qualities; hence, providing strength, stamina, courage, etc. Demantoid is a green color; within this garnet is a twist of green fire, a "coal" fire which generates energy at an atomically high-powered rate of oscillation. It is an excellent conductor and can be used to assist in the alignment of the magnetic fields of the body. Andradite also enhances the attractive aspects in relationships, attracting to one not that which is necessarily wanted, but bringing into ones life that which is essential for ones development.

      Pyrope garnet

Is basically concerned with the protection of the base and crown chakras and in maintaining the rhythms of the subtle bodies in sync with the other aspects of consciousness. It provides for a connection between the grounding force of the base chakra and the opening to the inner wisdom associated with the crown chakra. It is a general stabilizer and does not usually project itself further than the psychic body. It stimulates warmth and gentleness. Assisting one in the unification with the creative forces of the self. It further helps one toward the actualization of experiencing the great spiral reaching from the center of the self to the outer layers of consciousness.

      Rhodolite garnet

Is an important variety of for its energetic attributes. Its energy is conducive to application from the base chakra to the crown chakra. It assists in the illumination of intuition and can be used as a stimulant for inspiration in the development of the metaphysical processes which enhance both the meditative and channeling states. It can initiate the rise of the Kundalini and can support the movement of the energy throughout the chakras. It is an excellent stabilizer, stimulating calm assurance throughout the physical, mental, emotional, and ethereal bodies. This mineral helps to guide one during times of contemplation, balancing peace and solitude with harmony and activity. It is also known as a "stone of inspiration", bringing the inspiration of love via the heart and the mind. it can be used in the treatment of disorders of the heart and lungs.

      Spessartine/Spessartite garnet

Energy is in the form of a rapid vibration which extends in effectiveness into the subtle bodies, as well as the higher bodies. When one is attracted to the stone, that attraction is an indication that the consciousness is ready to both absorb and assimilate the higher levels of inner dynamics of growth and structural balance. It can also be used to initiate the analytical processes of the mind, bringing precise independence in discovery, and facilitating exploration within, the analytical and rational realms.

      Tsavorite garnet

Is another important garnet for spiritually minded individuals. The message and activities of this mineral culminate in the directive "Know Thyself".
It helps to stimulate the knowledge, within the inner self, that each person is the ruler of his/her own destiny, and that this ruling must be accomplished with love, or the ruler forfeits the position. It helps one to live within this concept and to reflect the eternal love to the outer world. It also provides for a connection with the higher planes, facilitating contact with the spiritual world, enhancing channeling, and helping to produce visions. The energy of Tsavorite helps one to feel the connection via sensitivity, rather than to see via the physical. Tsavorite can be used to assist one in psychic communications and in pursuits relative to telepathic connections. The crystalline formation and the faceted configuration is extremely powerful for this and all other applications.
Tsavorite can be used in the treatment of disorders of the senses - hearing, smell, sight, taste, touch, and thought. (As Grossularite, it also inspires the ideal of service.)

Lapis Lazuli:

This is a stone that Edgar Cayce mentioned many times in his trance readings for people. Even the books on stones that are written almost always seem to give this stone a lot of attention. there is a series of related stones, according to Cayce, which are good for attuning the body, mind or spirit to higher vibrations. they are all related to copper, as in they are minerals derived from the oxidation of copper in natural deposits of the mineral.
This mineral, possibly more than any other mineral, helps you to connect with the higher realms and psychic information. It helps in the development of psychic impulses, and aides in relaxation when entering a meditative state. It assists us when we try to reach out to our spirit guides. If the stone is actually translucent, it has a stronger ability to affect our connection with higher worlds. This stone is often underrated in its value and metaphysical potential.

Peridot:

Is a green stone with a yellowish cast. it can be a beautiful deep olive green to a light yellowish green. it is a bright stone, and when faceted well, has a flashy and beautiful appearance.
It is reported to have an inviting and congenial energy. It works on the heart chakra and the solar plexus and  promotes intellectual exploration of love and other relationships. It has a shielding effect upon the body and should be left off when you are being cleansed or smudged or when you're having any energy work for balancing or aligning. It will protect you from outside energy coming in and unbalancing the work once it's done. through it's green color it is a healing stone, and it facilitates openness and intellectual understanding of emotional feelings.

Petrified Wood:

This is a stone that I tend to feel a natural affinity towards. Most books on the subject agree that Petrified wood is a very grounding stone with an energy that promotes a connection with past lives. this would seem like a natural thing for this stone, since it represents a record of past lives of organic matter. I should think that wearing, or using in meditations and trances, for the purpose past life regression, petrified wood should provide a big advantage in trying to tune in and open up the door to the past.
People also tend to be drawn to trees as well. there are a lot of people that go out and hug a tree to connect with the earth. Some do it to relieve stress. some do it as a symbol of their love for nature. Some do it because some psychic told them it would be healthy for them. The Druids were also known as tree people, and they had an alphabet based on trees that was really quite complex. They had a hierarchy of trees that helped to explain the hierarchy of life and afterlife for them.

Silver:

This metal has often been compared to the moon, receptive, reflective, like a mirror. It provides for a strong connection between the lower, physical body and the higher, etheric bodies.
It helps to strengthen the silver cord for those who travel out of the body on the astral planes. It’s also intellectually stimulating, encouraging culture and eloquence in speech and action. It does, in fact, vibrate to the energy of the moon, and even though it is described by one author to vibrate to the number 4, I feel that it has a strong connection with the number 2 and number 11. It fortifies the energy of the stones that are set in it and even helps to direct their energies, absorbing them and stabilizing them so they may be used to open, cleanse, and activate multiple energy centers at once.
Silver is not an aggressive energy, but it assists and cleanses, supports and encourages, and builds bridges for us between where we are and higher realms and universal understanding.

Tourmaline:

This is another important stone for metaphysics because it comes in such a wide range of colors, not to mention its inherent properties regardless of the color. it acts as a purifier, cleaning out many energetic imbalances in the body and the mind, as well as the spirit. Tourmaline defuses and disperses negative energy that is around someone. The black variety, known as schorl, is very useful in repelling negativity without absorbing any of it. It is reported that tourmaline helps to balance out the yin and the yang, the male and female energy in the body and brings a balance to ones understanding of spiritual existence. It encourages self-confidence, which is usually a natural by-product of balance within oneself.

      Black Tourmaline

Is an excellent accessory for times of heavy stress and when emotions are flying off the handle. it is good protection during these moments by warding off the energy that accumulates in the air around you while helping you to maintain your own stamina. Black clothing is also good for protection, but it will absorb the energy and needs to be washed to release it. Also known as 'Schorl,' black tourmaline acts more like teflon, the non-stick coating. It is also recommended for grounding between the first chakra and mother earth. It is a Major Player in protection between people and spirits who do not walk in the light.

      Blue Tourmaline

Also known as indicolite, stimulates the third eye and helps to integrate capabilities for psychic awareness and communication. It stimulates a maturation toward service by opening one up to the power and pervasiveness of love. People who are drawn to blue tourmaline generally have a spiritual nature, which is definitely enhanced by the energy of this stone. This stone also helps in energy imbalances that can result in respiratory and immune dysfunction, as well as in eye and brain disorders.

      Green Tourmaline

Has a very healing nature. Some experts consider it the most powerful of the green stones that we know of. It is reported to be able to balance all areas of life, and should be a staple of any healers attire or tool box. It supports the nervous system, including brain function and helps to rebalance the immunological system. It has a masculine energy, but is infused with compassion. It is useful for opening the heart chakra and coordinating energy between the heart chakra and the third eye. It helps someone to identify and avoid negative energy before it becomes harmful, something that anyone standing at a crossroads in their life could use. It is also very good for healing plants and animals. Green tourmaline brings energy from the mineral world and allows it to flow to the plant and animal kingdom for the purpose of healing and reaching homeostasis. The green variety of tourmaline facilitates the study of plants, especially herbalism where it can also increase its effectiveness. Through its compassionate male energy, it can help rectify emotional problems stemming from father or paternal problems earlier in life. It is also purgative and revitalizing, useful for treating energy imbalances that result in eye disorders, thymus problems, problems with the ductless glands as well as the immune system and problems in losing weight. finally it also helps one to understand their own spirituality.

      Pink Tourmaline

Soothes the emotions and helps in love and acceptance issues. It promotes the sharing of feelings and emotions, especially by those who are afraid to fall in love or afraid to trust others. Like green tourmaline it helps to heal the body, but it does it in more subtle ways. It works on a more energetic level to balance an individual's life and open up the heart chakra and the ensuing possibilities for happiness.

Zircon:

Helps to return one's virtuous nature and restores hardiness. It promotes constancy and continuity by it's symbolic representation of 'All That Is', steadfast and unchanging. It also promotes the ability to see and access levels for astral travel and heavenly exploration.
